Tidal Volume - ‘call and response’ residency - 2021
Tidal Volume is ‘call and response’ residency for Indigenous culture-bearers to experiment with sound, song, language, spoken word and text to connect across distance.
Produced in the context of the pandemic, Tidal Volume asks us to consider what presence means when we can’t be in physical spaces together. How might we communicate — and listen — differently?
Presented in partnership with Footscray Art Centre, Vancouver-based organisations grunt gallery and The Blue Cabin, artists will work in collaboration to produce new works that experiments with sound, song, language, spoken word and text – connecting through conversation across distance.
Residency dates: 27 September – 24 October, 2021
Funded by the generous support of the Australia Council for the Arts, the Canada Council for the Arts and supported by Victoria University.
